Dr. Pratik Desai is a board-certified cardiologist with Cary Cardiology. He has been a physician with Cary Cardiology since 2000. Since 2009, he has chaired WakeMed's Chest Pain Committee and since 2010, the Congestive Heart Failure Committee. Under his leadership, WakeMed received accreditation for both the Chest Pain Center and Congestive Heart Failure recognition.
Dr. Desai completed his studies at Baroda Medical College, M.S. University, Vadodara, India. He completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia Richmond, VA, where he also completed his fellowship in interventional cardiology.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine for interventional cardiology and cardiovascular diseases. He is a diplomat of the Society of Vascular Medicine and Biology and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. His specialty training includes peripheral vascular diagnostics and interventional cardiology. He is a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and Society of Chest Pain Centers. He speaks English, Urdu, Gujarati and Hindi fluently.
